that more space could be provided
at a minimum of cost.
A committee of jurymen, Lewis
Moses, Walter Hall, Bill Pierson,
and Ted Crunkleton, inspected the
prison camp and reported it to be
in "good condition".
Recommendation for a new
courthouse came from the entire
18-man jury.
The men inspecting the court
house, jurymen Fred Dehart,
Clyde Morgan, and Tom Alley re
ported: "The courthouse was found
in very poof condition. It needs a
new paint job, cleaner rest roomr.;
the register of deeds' office needs
more space for files; the clerk of
court's office needs more filing
space and room; the sheriff's of
fice needs more space . .
E3mer Roten, John Conley, '
Claude Conley, Floyd Ramsey,
Reld Elliott, and Vernon Cunning
ham inspected the county Jail.
Their findings: "The jail is being
kept In an extra good manner, but
more space Is badly needed. Of
tentimes, prisoners must be trans
ported to other jails for the sim
ple reason that there is not suf
ficient room, according to law. to
accommodate them. We have ref
erence to mixed sex and also to
minors and mixed races. Addition
al space could be made at a min
imum expense to the county."
Foreman of the grand jury was
George R. Pattillo.
The jurymen completed their
inspections Tuesday of last week.

?Of course we haven't actually counted all the Joneses. But
it seems a safe guess. Because this year? as they have year

more people drive Chevrolets than any other car. Maybe you
ought to come in and see why this is so.
