Miss Myra Crawford, who is | employed in Winston-Salem, spent Swafford's Sayin's I don't think I have ever seen people so busy as they are around here. Nearly everyone who comes in my little 'ole country store buys some can ning supplies. I just have to hustle to keep enough, can lids, sure-jell, freezer boxes, sugar and other things for the ladies to use. They shore won't go hungry the way they are put ting away the food. If any of you fine folk get hungry ? just come out our way. If I don't have something In the store ? there will be plenty in the cel lars and freezers. We'll divide with you. From the looks of my Dad's four daughter s-ln-law they haven't been hungry. Boy, if he could only sell them by the ton. They all ( along with others < squeezed in to my store the oth er day ? made it look like a black snake that had swallowed a big toad frog. I wonder if you folk have noticed how young some of the ladies look with the new hair do? The other day one of my old-maid school teachers stop ped by to see me. When I said something about how young she looked ? with her new hair ar rangement ? Imagine ? she gave me a big kiss on the forehead ? Bless her little ole sweet heart. (I can close my eyes yet and feel that sweet caress). Then another lady stopped, (I wouldn't have known her if I hadn't recognized the car), and I said something about her hair ? made her look about 18 ? nothing happened that time ? I think I'll have my wife get her hair cut ? if it will make her look better. Several of my old friends and customers have been com ing to see my store. The other day I looked up and saw Jack and Louise Sherrlll come in. I didn't have much time to chat with them, but shore was glad to see 'em. Several others have Bald that they want to come. I hope you will come ? but wait 'till I get things a little cleaner than the floor was when they were here. Sometimes I get busy, and the house gets in a mess, but it doesn't take me long to get it in shape again. Buddy, I'm sellin' "Spray Kill" fly spray ? pts. 49c ? qts. 79c and "Fllppo Fly Bait" ? 2 lb. can 60c. Some folk think that is too cheap ? but my con science won't let me Sell it as high as some charge for it. Sorry no mill days at present.
