Miss Jean Wykle, to Lyle Coggins, Jr., of Pine Creek, In Jackson County. They were married in Walhalla, S. C.. Saturday. August 18 by the Rev. D. C. Hooper. Music Study Club Will Meet Tonight The Franklin Music Study Club will hold its August meeting to night (Thursday) at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. A. A. Siler on West Main Street. Mrs. S. B. Moss is co-hostess. Miss Corbeels To Wed Andre\v Jack Patton Mr. and Mrs. T. Corbeels, of 425 Avalon Road, Winston-Salem, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Barbara Louise Corbeels, to Andrew Jack son Patton, of Dallas, Tex., son of R. A. Patton, of Franklin, and the late Mrs. Patton. Miss Corbeels is a graduate of Duke University, Durham, and was a member of the Tri Delt. Mrs. Hunter will visit her son N. C. State College, Raleigh, and is employed as aeronatical engi neer by the Chance Vought Air craft Company in Dallas. The wedding will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Winston Salem Saturday, August 25, at 7:30 p. m. H. L. Bryant Taking Trip To Havana, Cuba For outstanding salesmanship, H. L. Bryant, of Macon County Supply Company, has won a trip to Havana Cuba, to attend the General Electric convention. He left yesterday (Wednesday) for Charlotte, where he Joined G. E. dealers and boarded a chartered plane to Cuba. 'Object Matrimony Gives Evening of Entertainment Those who did not attend "Ob ject-Matrimony", presented by the Community Players at East Frank lin School last Friday night, miss ed an evening filled with mirth ful entertainment and the oppor tunity to assist the Junior Wom an's Club's needy children fund. From the time the curtain went up until the last line of the three act comedy, the audience roared with laughter and applause. The two directors, Mrs. Richard S. Jones and Mrs. Ted Reber, did an excellent job of casting and direct ing, which resulted in each of the seven members of the cast seem ing to belong in his or her part. The central character was Aunt Emma, "a maiden lady", played ' uproariously by Mrs. Grace 0"Mo- 1 hundro. Her two nieces, Louise J and Katherine, were played con vincingly by Mrs. Hershel Keener 1 and Miss Freda Slier. The four 1 men added spice to the plot and i started a chain .of comic situa- i tions. Hie parts were played by 1 Kenneth Tallent, as Dick Chris- ' tianson, Jack Angel, as Jack Nor jrls," Holland McSwaln, as Bud ' Gates, and Jim Willlapison, as Joe Sparks. During intermission Mrs. W. T. Jenkins, Junior Woman's Club member, presented J. Ward Long, winner of the "Hen Pecked Hus bant, contest, a large rolling pin tied with red ribbon. The Fleet Home Town News ' Center has identified them as j Raymond W. Talley, metalsmith third class, and Joe E. Holland, firemen, both crewmen aboard j the heavy cruiser U.SS Bremerton. I Talley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Talley, of Highlands, j and Holland is the son of Mr. and j Mrs. Harley C. Holland, of Frank- j lin, Route 5, and husband of the former Miss Dixie N.
