You Don't Worship
God Alone
\
One of the old favorite hymns starts out
"We Gather Together ..."
To us who belong to the Episcopal Church
the thought of gathering together to worship
God is one of the most important things in
our religious life. We gather together to wor
ship God in a body.
You see, in the Episcopal Church, the serv
ices you attend whether Morning Prayer, Even
ing Prayer or the Service of Holy Communion,
are centered in the worship of God. You sajr,
"That's true of any church," and that's right
but in an entirely different degree. Sure, we
have a sermon in most of our services, and
we believe that "preaching the word" is most
essential. But, the service is not "preaching
centered". It's centered around the worship
of God.
And we all take part in the services which
are contained in our beloved Book of Common
Prayer ? we refer to it as corporate worship.
Wouldn't you like to join us? We assure
you of this much ? you'll leave feeling you've
really been in church.
Join us soon in the Episcopal Church near
you.
