Tippett Boy Back In School, Proud Possessor Of Cap Doctors Took From His Lung Eddie Tippett went back to school Monday, and with a souve nlr taken from deep within his right lung. It Is a small metal cap which he accidentally swallowed while playing last week. To retrieve the cap, Eddie had to go to a special ist at Ponce de Leon Infirmary, in Atlanta. Bob Conely drove 13-year-old Eddie and his father, J. Lee Tippett, to Atlanta Monday night of lSst week. "It was no easy job," Mr. Tippett declared, "with all that New Year's traffic pouring out of Atlanta coming this way." Doctors first tried to get at the cap with a magnet. This didn't work. They discovered why, after they had taken it out with a pair of forceps; the cap is made of aluminum, which won't respond to a magnet. The boy stayed in the hospital until Wednesday of last week, when he returned home. The doc tor recommended he remain at i home for the rest of the week. Eddie's father reports his son ' "wouldn't take anything for that cap". Eddie is in Mrs. Theo Riser's seventh grade at Franklin Ele mentary School. I His foxhole faith stayed with him... It's been told many times bow there were no atheists in the foxholes. Faith under fire was quick, com plete, uncomplicated and unquestioned. Fortunately, many who found faith under these conditions kept it? even after the firing stopped and the last troopship docked back home. Like much of the hard wisdom learned in war, the faith developed in battle has been put to wider, wiser use in the years that have followed. It has spread outward now ... to the family, giving them the strength need ed to weather the long, hard pulls and the short, sharp adversities. That strong family faith and stronger richer life it brings are never built better than now . . . are never built surer than when you worship together regularly? every week.
