Mrs. Bryson Dies At HoniCj Owned One Of First Organs Mrs Mary Bell Bryson, who as a girl rode alone in a baggy to ' Ellijay to take music lessons and , who owned one of the first organs . in Cullasaja community, died in her sleep Friday morning at her home in Cullasaja. She had celebrated her 79th birthday Jan. 7. Mrs. Bryson was active until the time of her death. The day before, she had sewed for several hours, mending the lining of a 51-year old quilt which she had been giv-j en by her mother. She was the daughter of the ' late Samuel Alexander and Mrs. , Martha Ann Jacobs Bell. Mrs. Bryson and her hiixband. William Marion Bryson, who were ' married Aug. 18. 1901, lived in tile ? Bell homeplace, where Mrs. Bry-j son was born. The Bry>ons lia<l rebuilt the Bell home. Mr. Bryson, who survives, is 81. ; She was for a long time ors.wi ist at Salem Methodist Church Later, she and Mr. Bryson were charter members of the Cullasaja ; Assembly of God and she served that church as both organist and secretary for many years. A lover of flowers, she grew more than 100 varieties of dahlias and could call them all by name. Reading was one of her hobbies. She was interested in history and in late years had correspond ed with a number of people in an attempt to draw together informa tion about the Jacobs family, of which her mother was a member. Funeral services were held Sat urday at 2:30 p. m. at Cullasaja Assembly of God with burial in the Salem Methodist Church cem etery The Rev. William C. Jolla.v Mrs. Bryson's pastor, conducted the services, assisted by the Rev. Fred Sorrells. a former Cullasa.ia minister. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Roy Holland, Bill Holland. Virgil Holland. Alfred Holland. Jr.. Wiley Holland, and Kenneth Dills. Surviving in addition to hev husband are two sons. John A. and William Marion Bryson. Jr.. both of Frariklin. Route 5; three daughters. Miss Annie Bell Bry son. of the home, and Mrs. Ruth Jane Holiand and Mrs. Mary Eliz abeth Dills, of Franklin. Route 5; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
