BLAINE (Club Reporter) i Plans for a workshop on May 14 from 9:30 a. m. to 1 p. m. have been made by the members of the Patton Home Demonstration Club. Members are asked to bring sandwiches or covered dishes for lunch and any work on which they need some help. The work shop will be held at the Commun ity building. The workshop was set up at the club's regular meeting May 1 at the community building. In ob servance of "Pamily Life Month", the program was directed at fam ily life. Mrs. Anna Ledford, fam ily life leader, had charge and gave several of the most impor tant steps that one must take in order to succeed. Mrs. Florence S. Sherrill, home agent, presented a review on men tal health and stressed its impor tance in family life. Vegetable recipes will be ex changed at the June meeting. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. R. D. Wells and Mrs. J. D. Wells. First Private School Was Held In Building Occupied By Scott The first private school here was held on the second floor of the Main Street brick building now occupied by Scott Furniture Company, according to Mrs. W. N. Cook. Last week's Education Section of The Press told of the opening of a private school here about 1840. but explained its location was not known. Mrs. Cook said this week she re called hearing the late Mrs. Sam L. Rogers saying the school was held in that building.
