Miss Doris Ann Reber, a nurse at Veterans Administration Hos pital in Coral Gables, Fla., is spending 10 days here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Reber. Only 14 Counties Spend Less Than Macon On Busses Only 14 of North Carolina's 100 counties spend less per pupil on school bus transportation than Macon County. Macon's cost per pupil. $9.25, is well below the state average of $10.75 a student per year. Here are some other Macon County fig ures compiled by the state board of education: Number of buses, 47: average number of students hauled daily. 3.249: total operating cost, $30, 067; total miles operated, 322.343: and average cost per mile. 9.3 cents.
