Spring brings on the flowers, grass Like a Housewife Hates Dust on the Furniture Phillips 66 Dealers take a lot of pride in being good house keepers. They have a house wifely hatred of untidiness. They keep their stations clean, including those all-important rest rooms. They'll go all out to keep your car clean, too. "Whiskbrooming" the interior of your car is one of those extra little services your Phillips 66 Dealer is glad to perform. And he'll clean the windows for you . . .all the way around. This obsession with cleanliness is part and parcel of our policy of "Hospi tality on the Highway." You benefit from it at any station which displays the orange and black Phillips 66 Shield. Having been a photographer ? amateur) for the past three and a half years, I find that a friendly tip helps because photography is something you can't learn enough about. There's always something new. So, I hope to have a little tip each week to help out (if possible). For this week, I might say that most of the trouble with a lot of pictures is camera move ment. When you start to make a picture take a deep breath and hold it, then steady your camera, click, and you should have a clear picture (unless somebody goofed). Another thing that I have found faulty in a lot of pictures is an object "growing" out the top of someone's head. Always take a good look at your back ground. If it is undesirable, move the sub ject around until you find a suit able one. If nothing In the im mediate area pleases you try lay ing on the ground and shooting where the sky will be the back ground. A sky is usually suitable for another picture. Through the help of a teen magazine. I hope to have 10 slang expressions each week. ABC. ? Means "Always be cool." Abes Cabe? A live ($5) bill. Able-Cable ? A tidy bundle of things and stuff. Ace ? has two meanings. A dol lar bill. An Important cat. Air? Answer. All Shook ? Really excited about something. All Wasted? It's not right. Not with it. Ape ? Cool. Crazy. Terrific. Apples ? A square. Bad ? Means good fitting. Suit able. ? ? ? A cute teen-ager with a nice personality seen around frequent ly is Virginia Boyd. Virginia is a 15 year old freshman at Frank lin High and is very active in school activities. She is on the student council, belongs to the 4-H club, and is a cheerleader. Virginia lives with Dick Shope, her uncle, and her hobbies are sports and boys. She plans to go to college after high school and study nursing. ? ? ? Most of the girls around Frank lin seem to like short haircuts. They must have decided It's too much trouble to spend two hours combing it. * * * There isn't a big change in the 10 top tunes this week.
