The hostesses, Mrs. Ted Blaine, Mrs. Wayne Stewart, and Mrs. Harley Stewart served cake and punch. Plans Program The 4-H Club met November 11 to plan a program for the De cember meeting. Each member of the club and the adult leaders exchanged names for the Christ mas tree. Eleven members were present. The devotional was given by Gloria Jean Hedden. Beale, Native And Rock Mason, Succumbs James Haworth Beale, a rock mason and native of this county, i died Wednesday. Dalton, of Judges Learn All About Top Community Judges of the W.N.C. 1 Rural Community Development Contest know just about everything there is to know about Macon County's prize-winning Io'tla community. Here Thursday afternoon of last week, they were greeted by 12 members of the community, each with a specific phase of commun ity work on which to report. Mrs. Stanley Penland told about j community projects: James Roper, community beautification; James Myers and Ed Whitaker, church and grounds : Mrs. Albert Ramsey. Jr., home improvements; Alex Arnold, school activities: Mrs., Ed Duvall, lunchroom projects and j suppers; Mrs. Claude Roper, fund raising projects: Mrs. Ed Bradley, programs; Mrs. Penland, youth ac tivities: and Mrs. Ramsey, other community activities. Going with the judges on a tour of the community were Mrs. Pen land, Claude Roper, and Ed Brad ley. Winners of the area contest will be announced December 5 in Ashe ville as a feature of the annual awards banquet.
