They were married lin 1909 and have lived most of Hieir married life in Macon Coun lr. -^Mrs. Bailey had a birthday 'the day following their anniver sary and was 68 years old. Mr. Bailey will be 69 January XI. The Baileys have six children, 12 trandchildren, and three great grandchildren.. Surprise Visitor Joe Turman, ministerial student at Carson Newman College, and tfme friends from Hayesville, dropped by for a surprise visit Sunday night, December 27, at the Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He was the visiting evangelist at a revival held there in the sum mer. He brought the message at i he Sunday night service at the invitation of the pastor, the Rev. Thad R. Dowdle. COLLIER DECEMBER 28 M a con i an Puiei At Son's Home On Cartoogechaye John Miles Collier, 92, died at 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 28. following an illness of two months, at the home of a son, Arthur Collier, in the Cartooge chaye section. Mr. Collier, a farmer, was a native and life-long resident of Macon County. The son of the late William and Mrs. Mary Jones Collier, he was married to Miss Elizabeth Mason, of this county. In 1907. Mrs. Collier died In 1927. Funeral services were held Wednedsay afternoon at the Gillespie Chapel Methodist Church, of which Mr. Collier was a member. The Rev. J. C. Lane, assisted by the Rev. Robert B. Burnette. officiated. Pallbearers were Jesse Bates, Dover Lee Arnold, Earl Bates, John Henry, D. J. Carpenter, and Furmarl Bates. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are three sons. Jim, Arthur and Fred, of Route 1 ; three daughters, Mrs. Arizona Arnold and Mrs. Maggie Bates, of Route 1, and Mrs. Mary Bates, of Long Creek, S. C.; four brothers, William and Opcar Collier, of Franklin, and Homer and Charlie, of Gastonla; a sister, Mrs. Sallle Anderson, of Gastonla; 11 grand children; and six great-grandchil dren, Potts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
