Staff Correspondent) Lot Of Snow Due t'j- the snows we have been havin::. the Nantahala schools have been tloscd n lot in the last two weeks. Two weeks ago there were; only two days of school and last week chilrren onfy attended three days. Boys Second Western division Smoky Moun tain Conference ratings find the Nantahala girls in fourth place and the boys in second place at the end of the year. The girls ,won seven and lost five this year, while boys were making ihe fine record of 10 wins and only two losses. In the western division tourna ment at Murphy February 15-20 the girls defeated Hiawassee Dam 59-46, and Robbinsville by a score of 57-50 to reach the finals, i But, in the Saturday night finals, the girls lost to Hayesville 54-45. The boys downed Stecoah 75-3;; and Robbinsville 61-44. before los ing to Murphy 65-34 on Saturday night. The Nantahala girls lost to Franklin's lassies 57-55 in the con solation finals at Murphy, Febru ary 23. The Nantahala boys entered Dis trict 8 Class A playofrs at Bryson City Wednesday night.
