Maconian Receives Highest Grade Given At Institute Mr. Blaine A Franklin native has achieved the honor of graduating in a course in International Business Machine Automation Wiring and Tabulation at the American Insti tute In Washington, D. C? with the highest grade ?ver attained by a graduate. Hugh Louln Blaine, who now lives in Alexandria. Va., is the honor student. His final grade In the course was 97 3/8. Mr. Blaine has been employed in the Identification department of the P.B.I. and attended night school at the institute to take the I.B.M. course. He Is now employed by Freder ick W. Berens, Inc.. Sanaers, of Route 2, Franklin, N. C., took part in a Joint Navy Mirine Corps exercise off the ^:ast of Camp Lejuene March 22 April 5. while serving aboard the amphibious force flagship USS Taconlc. The operation, known as "Lant phlblex 1-60". was the largest am phibious exercise of the year and Involved Second Division Marines from Camp Lejuene. Purpose of the operation was to test the combat readiness of the Atlantic Fleet and the combat ef fectiveness of the Marine Corps' latest developments in equipment and landing techniques. ...
