About 20 people were present and hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. John D. Wells, Mrs. Glynn Mays, Mrs. Lois Krickbaum. Mrs. E. R. White, and Mis. Homer Cochran. The hostesses served cake and punch for refreshments Bride-Elect Feted Misses Hildred Wilson and Lin da Jeane Ledford were hostesses at a bridal shower honoring Miss Evelyn Littleton, brlce-elect of Doyle Cloer, at the home of Miss Wilson last Saturday night. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Fred Elrod and children, of Chattanooga, Tenn., spent the week end with Mrs. El rod's mother, Mrs. Jim Emory, and Mr. Emory. Mrs. Berniece McCraeken left Sunday for Oak Ridge, Tenn., to enter a hospital there. Misses Irene Cloer and Jeane Ledford were recent guests . of Miss Evelyn Littleton in Mt. Airy, Ga. Mrs. Henry Mashburn has re turned home after a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Burnette, in Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Scroggs and children, of Welcome, Md., were called home last week due to the illness of Mr. Scroggs' father. Edd Scroggs. Melvin Brooks, of Maggie, pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church, was guest speaker at the Patton Church last Sun day. After services a picnic lunch was served in the community building. Mr. Brooks, a former lesident of this community, was accompanied on the trip here by his wife and children and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brooks. Working Held An all-day working was held last Wednesday at the commun ity building by the women of the home demonstration club to make a kneeling pad for the church. Visiting Parents A/3c Andrew Doyle Cloer who is stationed at Myrtle Beach, S. C., arrived Tuesday for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Cloer.
