Cowee Guests Members of the Cowee Develop ment Organization were guests last Monday night at the May meeting of the Iotla Community Development Organization. About 70 persons were present for a covered dish supper. Plans for the June county-wide revival were featured in the pro gram. Bob S. Sloan gave a talk on the s peakers who will be coming to Macon County for the two week meeting. Group singing, using the song books tha twill be used at the revival, was led by Thomas Long, Mrs. Ed Brogden, and Marshall Pouts. Mr. Long, a Macon Coun ty native, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Byrd. For a number of years ,he has been living in Seat Field Groups, Conference, Scheduled May Is Finding Highlands Unit Busy Place "Hiree field groups and a con ference of a committee from the board of managers of the High lands Biological Station are sched uled for May. Fourteen students from Wes leyan College, under the leader ship of Dr. Lillian M. Cowie, were at the station May 6-8. On May 13, 10 graduate stu dents of the vertebrate zoology class at Duke University at the station. Dr. J. R. Bailey is the professor in charge of the group, assisted by Julian R. Harrison. On May 14, Dr. Wilbur Duncan, botany department. University of Georgia, brought about 60 staff members and students from the botany departments of the Uni versity of Georgia, Georgia Teach ers College, and Agnes Scott Col lege to Highlands. A committee from the board of managers met May 13-15 to plan long term research in some of the escarpment gorges of the Southern Blue Ridgu Moun tains. An all-day field trip to the Toxaway Gorge area was held, oh May 14, with a formal con ference scheduled for that niuli' in the library of the station Members of the committee are H. R. Linda Rickman was pianist for the group singing. 17 At Meeting The Women's Missionary Union of the Iotla Baptist Church met last Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. Paul Swafford. Seventeen members were present. Mrs. Kate Williams was in charge of the program.
