Elliott, the former Miss Brand a Cunningham, is the recipient of the quilt which was quilted at the Carson Com munity Building last Wednesday and Thursday by home demonstra tion club women. The quilt Is a flower pattern and was pieced by Brenda'a grandmother, Mrs. John P. Cunningham. WJS.C.S. Meets Mrs. Ruby Brookshlre was the hostess to the Carson Woman Society of Christian Service meet ing last Thursday night at her home on Bldwell Street. A candle lighting pledge service and lnstal lation of officers ceremony, under the leadership of Mrs. Brookshlre, was the program foe the evening. The officers installed were Mrs. Earl Cabe, president; Mrs. Ruby Brookshlre, vice-president; and Mrs. Fred S. Moore, secretary treasurer. Adult Bible Class Mrs. George Harold Moore, Jr., was hostess to the Carson Young Adult Bible Class meeting at her home Wednesday night. May 18, with seven members present. R. J. Bryson, president, was in charge of the program. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Tooth Fellowship The Uouisa-Carson M.Y.F. met at Louisa Chapel. Sunday night. May 22. Steve Cabe was In charge of the program. Clark's Chapel M.YJ. members were guests. They have invited the Louisa-Carson M.Y.F. to meet with them June 12. A rummage sale is being planned by the LouisaCarson M.Y.F. for Saturday, May 28, If anyone has any rummage to give they may get In touch with a member of the M.Y.F. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Bryson were chaperones last Saturday night for the M.Y.F. overnight camping trip at Nantahala Lake. Some 20 members went camping. 4-H Sunday ' "4-H Club Sunday" at Louisa Chapel was held last Sunday Linda Wallace was in charge o f the program Jean Dills. Sue Hawks, and Clara Belle Graham participated in the program. Carson Chapel will have "4-H Sunday" next Sunday, with Tom my Sherrill in charge. The Junior 4-H Club is grateful to Fred S. Moore for repairing their sliding board. Moves Away The loss of Carson community was the gain of Cartoogechaye when Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Crawford and family moved from the Harold Moore house here last week to that community. Feted At Shower Miss Christine Waldroop. daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Belton Wal droop and bride-elect of Carroll Hurst, was feted at a bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Mil dred Dills last Tuesday night. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Wilcox were her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Vic Denton, of Marion, last week. Week end guests of Mr and Mrs. John F. Cunningham, were their grandson, Burton C. Boesser. Jr., and friend, of Columbus, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Lewis have returned to their home here after spending the winter in Lakeland. Fla. Mrs. Lewis has spent some time In the hospital there and is recuperating. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Greene have returned home from Areata. Calif.
