AN UNCOOPERATIVE MOTHER
This unphoiogenic mother 'possum gave Franklin's Bill
Crawford "a hard time" one day recently. Mr. Crawford (not |
"Principal BiH") spotted her with a dozen babies in a garbage
can. As soon as he approached, the little 'possums hid in the
pouch in the mother an,d all the coaxing in the world wouldn't
bring tlfem out again. He tried food. That didn't work. He tried
hiding and wailing for them to come out. He got tired waiting.
"Everyone will probably laugh at me," he confessed. "But I
just couldn't get those babies to come out and have their picture
taken ... I spont all day ..."
