Myrtle Hl? djon. The program will be on, "Your Child and His Money." Give Shower Women of the Higdonville Home Demonstration club met at the home of Mrs. R. B. Price Tuesday afternoon. Nov ember 8, and gave a kitchen shower for Mrs. Ted Farris, the former Miss Carolyn Bryson. The gifts will be mailed to Mrs. Farris, who lives in Grants, N. Mex. About 12 attended. Mrs. Fred Corbin, family life leader, presented a program to the group on "Take Time To Live." Baptismal Service Sunday afternoon, a baptis mal service was held by the Sugerfo.fc Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Jarvis Un derwood, baptizing the candi date, Mrs. Sam Caldwell. Ap proximately 40 attended. Attend Conference M."S. Pritchard Russell and Mrs. A. Parsons attended the Area Rural Heatlh Conference at the George Vandertoilt Hotel In Asheville last Wednesday. Mrs. Russell represented Culla saja Community Development Organization and Mrs. Parsons represented the Cullaaaja Home Demonstration Club. SrJraoi New* The state nutritionist Is vis iting Cullasaja School. An In teresting project is now under way. They are feeding two guinea pigs ? one is receiving a balanced diet and the other is getting a diet with a vitam in C deficiency. They are weighed daily and charts are kept showing their weights and condition. The purpose of the experiment is to promote the eating of more balanced diet. The state lunchroom super visor held a workshop at Cul Lasaja School recently for cooks of the lunchrooms In this county. Bach lunchroom man ager came and brought a sam ple of the lunch she had ser ved that day. They studied ways to make lunches more palatable and exchanged ideas. Seventh and eighth grade teachers attended a workshop In music at Bast Franklin School Tuesday. It is hoped that this study will help the teachers correlate music with the academic subjects. Mr. and Mrs. Denver Holland, and her grandmother, Mrs. Ittie Jen nings. Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Moore took Mr. Moore's mother, Mrs. J. W. Moore, to Seneca, S. C., where she re mained for a visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Ellenbu.g, Sr. Mrs. Bertie Suttle and two sons, Clark and Danny, left test Wednesday for a visit in | San Diego. Calif.. with Mrs. Suttle's older son, Lonnie, and | his wife. They plan to stay a- | bout three weeks. Week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Palmer were Mrs. Delia Ritzman. of Akron. Ohio, who was enroute to Miami for the winter, and Mrs. Charles Lioby, of Ma: a than, Fla. After a visit here with Mr. J and M.S. Malcolm Hunter. Mr. and Mrs. Huey have retuned to St. Petersburg:, Fla. Mrs. J. H. McConnell was admitted to Angel Hospital early this week and underwent sugery. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Bullard, of Savannah, Ga., arrived Sun day for a short stay here at the Oibeon Cottages. They are visiting their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jennings, and others. Purman Oorbin, Jr.. of Ashe vllle, was here this week end for a visit with his grandmoth er, Mrs. Eva Certain. Mr. and Mrs. Bill West, of Sylva visited Mrs. West's sis ters. Mrs. Frank McDowell and Mrs. Jim Teem and Mr. Teem,' Sunday. Mrs. Frank Holland is very ill at her home following a heart attack suffered Wednes day of last week.
