Western Caro lina College has been designated as a testing center for the 1961 Nationwide administration of the National Teacher Examination next February, Dr. W. Newton Turner, director of the college graduate divisicn, announced this week. College seniors preparing to teach and teachers applying for positions in school systems which encourage or require applicants to submit their scores on the Na tional Teacher Examinations a long with other credentials are eligible to take the tests. The examinations are prepared and administered annually by Educa tional Testing Service. Princeton, N. J. Two Macon Student's Named To Who's Who Miss Edith Christy and Miss Nancy Sutton, both from Frank lin and seniors at Pfelffer College, are two Jf 15 students from Pfelf fer named thds week to "Who's Who In American Colleges and Universities." Announcement of their election was made by Dr. Bernard Rus sell, chairman of the faculty com mittee on honors and awards. Membership is determined' by , sch olastic standing, campus lead- j ership contribution, and promise | of future usefulness. Nominations were made by members of the college faculty and final selection was determined by student vote. Miss Christy, an English major who plans to teach, is the daugh ter if Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Christy. She is editor of THE CHIMES, campus yearbook, has been active in affairs of the Woman's Stu length sheath dress of white bro cade satin. The gown featured a scoop neckline and a gathered in sert in the back of the dress with dropped hemline. Her veil of illusion was attached to a crown of seed pearls and sequins. She also wore an heirloom necklace of diamonds and pearls, which be longed to her great aunt. She car ried a white Bible with yellow rosebuds and streamers. Mrs. Holmes is a graduate of Franklin High School. She studies music at Western Carolina Col- ? lege, Cullowhee. She is employed by Citizen and Southern Nation al Bank in Spartanburg, S. C. Mr. Holmes served the U. 8. Air Force and is new employed in the production control department at Art Metal Corporation in Spar tanburg.
