Sealed proposals will be received by
the Mayor and Board of Commission
ers at Vass, North Carolina, until 11
o’clock a. m. on the 12th day of June,
1928, at the office of the Mayor at
which time all proposals will be pub
licly opened and read for furnishing
materials, labor, tools, and equipment
to complete such contracts as may be
entered into for the construction of
Water Supply Improvements, consist
ing of the following complete in
place:
4.000 lin. ft. 8 inch C. I. Pipe.
7,500 lin. ft. 6 inch C. I. Pipe.
6.000 lin. ft. 2 inch C. I. Pipe.
100.000 gal. Tank on 100-foot Steel
Tower.
1 Deep Well Pump.
1 Deep Well Pump House.
With necessary appurtenances.
Plans and specifications will be on
file at the office of the City Clerk,
Vass, North Carolina, and at the of
fice of the Engineers, and will be
mailed upon application accompanied
by a check for $10,00, which will he
returned to bona fide bidders.
Each bid must be accompanied by
a certified check to the amount of
five per cent of the amount bid, and
not less than $250.00, payable to the
Treasurer of Vass, North Carolina,
without recourse.
All bids must be placed in a .sealed
envelope and endorsed on the outside
“PROPOSAL FOR WATER SUPPLY
IMPROVEMENTS.” The Town pre
fers to let the entire work in one
contract, but reserves the right to
waive technicalities and let the work
in parts to separate bidders, or let
such parts of the work as is consid
ered to the best interest of the Town,
and reserves the light to reject any
or all bids.
Contractors ar cautioned to ex
amine the plans and specifications
thoroughly, form of contract, bond
and conditions under which the work
will be done before bidding.
In accordance with Act passed by
the North Carolina General Assem
bly, and ratified March 10, 1925, it
will be necessary for all contractors
to show evidence that they are li
censed to do business as such in the
State of North Carolina.
