Lineberry, has been quite sick with bronchial pneu monia for the past ten days. Joe Bobbitt, and son, Marvin, from Greensboro have bedn visiting the * family of his brother, W. T. Bobbitt, en route to Ellerbe to visit his brother who has been dangerously ill with pneumonia for some time. Frank Holcombe and his family of Fayette\alle, spent last Sunday in Aberdeen as the guests of Mr. Hol- tomb’s sister, Mrs. J. Talbot John son. The family of H. L. Boggs are ex pecting to move from their home near Poplar street out to the T. H. McGraw farm near Aberdeen in the near future. Miss Mildred Campbell, who is teaching in Jonesboro, spent the last week-end in town, visiting her mother, Mrs. Mary Campbell. Mr. and Mrs. Atwater, and son, Hubert, of Durham, spent the past week-emd visiting in Aberdeen, as guests of their son, H. A. Gunter. By the kindness of Freeman’s Furniture Company in installing a radio in the Presbyterian church for last Sunday night’s service many peo ple greatly enjoyed the wctnderful sermon broadcasted by Dr. B. R. Lacy, of the Union Theological Sem inary, at Richmond, Va., delivered in the interest of the Every Member Can\’‘ass throughout the South. Miss Hazel Stratton of Hartford, Conn., is the house-guest of Mrs. J. Talbot Johnson this week. Miss Miriam Johnson has been chosen as one of the State Regant pages to attend the State Conference held by the Daughters of the Ameri can Revolution convening in Winston- Salem, March 12 to 14th. Miss Vanessa McLead, who is teaching at Hamlet, spent last Sun day at home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. D. McLean. Friends of Mrs. H. C. Buchan are delighted to know that she is making a splendid recovery from an opera tion for appendicitis recently under gone by her at the Sanford hospital. They are an interest ing pair, and a valuable acquisition to the Knollwood community. Mrs. Neidich is the daughter of that fine old educator Prof. C. A. Martin, who for a quarter of a century has been head of the de partment of Architecture at Cornell. He will design an English home for the young folks, who will build as soon as preparations can be completed. Mr. Neidich is the son of one of the foremost research and niai.- ufacturing chemists of the country, closely connected with the modern development of that rayon and celluloid and kindred pro ducts group, and their creation embraces much that is used in electricity, chemistry, manufacturing, and the industries.
