A STATEMENT BY THE REPUBUCAN
PARTY OF MOORE COUNTY
There can be no relief from the present burdensome taxation and expen
ditures until a change is made. The party in power at present has too
many debts to pay in the way of recompense to party and not to the peo-
' pie as a whole. County expenses in North Carolina in the past ten years
have increased from around thirty million dollars a year to over four
hundred million dollars per year. Astatement that taxes are being reduc
ed i nincorrect. Get your receipts, and compare them with each year past.
If times are as hard as some calamity howlers predict, has your County
government done anything to help you? We do not pay taxes at Washing
ton. Your relief, if to be received at all, is here at home. Progress if to be
made lasting must be made within our means. Progress should be for ser
vice and not for show. Excessive taxation destroys revenue entirely, drives
out industry, banking and home building and reduces the value of land to
a minimum.
The Republican party offers three self made men for County Com
missioners, who know the value of a dollar, how to spend it successfully
and where it will benefit the people most.
From the upper end of the County, R. B. Reynolds;
From the County seat, 0. D. Wallace; ^
From the Sandhill section, Alton Cameron.
From the standpoint of integrity these men are not excelled. They
have made a success of their own personal affairs and one can go a long
way to help the people of Moore County.
Every man offered by the Republican party of Moore County is a ’
man in integrity, made a success of his own person?J affairs and can ren
der service without show and render representation without favor.
No one of these men are tied to a constituency looking to settlement
of personal favors and party com-pensation.
