Page Eight. Cameron and Community The 17th of October was the birth day of the Rev. M. D, McNeill, and October 18th was Mrs. M. D. McNeill’s birthday. Their many friends sur prised them by calling Saturday evening, bringing gifts of love and devotion to this highly esteemed cou ple, and wishing them many happy returns of the day. Owen Daniel Fulbright, known to his family and friends as “O. D.,” and one of the most popular students at Parker High School, died October 15, at the home of his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. J. 0. Fulbright of Brandon Mills, after an illness of six weeks. Funeral services were conducted Fri day morning by the Rev. Dr. J. S Dill, assisted by the Rev. J. M. Trog- den and the Rev. F. C. Owen of the Methodist Church. Young Fulbright was just 15 years of age, a member of the Senior class, a boy of exemplary character and gave promise of a fine career. He is survived by his parents, ing an A. B. course at State College, Raleigh, has accepted a position in the Primary Department of our school. She comes highly recommended. Mrs. L. B. John McDonald, colored, had a bad automobile wreck returning for the Moore County Fair last Saturday night. In some unexplainable way his car plunged down the hill near the late S. B. Muse, Mrs. Janie Muse and Miss Jack sie Muse were in Carthage Thursday evening to hear Ex-Governor Cameron Morrison speak on the political issues of the day. Governor Morrison is a kinsman of Mrs. Janie Muse. Mrs. Arthur Burt, Miss Janie Mc- visiting Mrs. J. E. Snow, has been quite ill for a week with tonsilitis. Her condition is reported greatly im proved. Her father, Charles E. Hol land came down for the week-end. Mrs. M. L. 'Matthews and Mrs. Rex. Kelly of Hanford and Mrs. Jack Ar derson and little daughter of Greens boro were in town Monday, calling on friends. Mrs. Charlie Teague and Mrs. Sam Teague of Hamlet called to see Prof- B. C. Mclver Friday afternoon. Rev. and Mrs. Walter Goodman of Kannapolis were in town last Fri day to see their friend, L. F. Ritchie, who remains quite ill at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. B. McKeithen. Mr. Ritchie’s brother, Scott Ritchie who lives near Baltimore, also spent Thursday night and Friday night with him. CARTHAGE Aid Society Meets The Methodist Aid Society met at the home of Mrs. Ida Bryan Monday afternoon, with a good attendance. Mrs. J. G. Downing, the president pre sided. Routine business was dispensed with and an interesting program was then given. Mrs. Fannie Shaw and Mrs. H. Lee Thomas read interesting papers. Mrs. J. G. Downing gave a resume of facts that she had read from papers with regard to Mission situation in differ ent countries. The November meeting will he held with Mrs. T. C. Black. Carthage Personals Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Greene of Naug- tuck, Conn., has been visiting Mrs. R. N. Henshaw. Mrs. Green is a sister of Mrs. Henshaw. Mr. and Mrs. Commodore Muse and little daughter, Elizabeth Ann, have returned to High Point after spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Fry. Mrs. Margaret Thomas and Mrs. R N.
