The contest conies to a close at 3 p. m. December 22nd. During the last week of the contest, contestants will put their subscriptions and
cash in sealed envelopes and deposit in locked box at Page Trust Ompany, Aberdeen, N- C. No possible chance for any person, not even the

contest manager or The Pilot man knowing how any contestant stands in that last week’s work. A committee will check the books and count
the votes as soon as possible after the contest closes Monday, December 22nd, at 3 p. m.

A SPECIAL FUND OP $500.00 has been reserved to pay Active non-prize winners on a basis
of 10% of their individual collectioDS on subscriptions. Any candidate who remains active to the
finish of the campaign, making a regular cash report, but fails to win one of the prizes offered will
participate in this commission feature. Think of it! One dollar out of each ten you collect oh sub>
scriptions is yoqrs if you fail to winaregular prize, and remain, an active participant.
This arrangement insures compensation to allactive candidates, and means that—

THE ADVISORY BOARD
It is the sincere aim of The Pilot to conduct
this campaign from start to finish in a fair, hon
orable and impartial manner. Every precaution
has been taken to safeguard the interests of
the participants, and absolute honesty in all deal
ing is guaranteed.
However, not all wisdom lies with any one
man or institution, and for that reason an Ad
visory Board has been decided upon, whose
functions shall decide any question of sufficient
moment that might happen to arise, and these
gentlemen will serve as a committee to act as
judges and award the prizes. The personnel of
this board is as follows: Union L. Spence, Car
thage; G. C. Seymour, Aberdeen; M. C. McDon
ald, West End.
All of these gentlemen are well known to
everyone in this vicinity and the final results, as
given out by them, will be beyond dispute.
