Dr. .and Mrs. E. L. Prizer enter tained at three tables of bridge Wed nesday evening. Guests included Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Poate, Dr. and Mrs. E. C. Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shamburger, Miss Mary Wilder and her houseguest, Mrs. Landis. Miss Dorothy Stutz, Miss Alice Stutz, Miss Dorothy Pottle and Miss Dorothy Case were dinner guests at Sedgefield Inn on Sunday. Senator-elect Murdoch M. John son entertained members of the Aber deen football squad and faculty at a supper dance at the Orange Room at Jack’s Grill Tuesday evening. On Friday evening Sandhill mem bers of the Isaac Walton League of which George Moore is president of the local division held a meeting in the Orange Room. GEORGE RABEY DIES IN NEW RESIDENCE HERE Mrs. Bessie W. Minor Rabey, wife of George Rabey passed away early Monday morning in her home on Ashe street. Southern Pines. Follow ing a service conducted by Miss Ser geant of the Church of Wide Fellow ship Mrs. Rabey’s body was taken to her former home, Interlaker, N. Y., for interment. Mr. and Mrs. Rabey spent last season in Southern Pines and deciding to make this resort their home proceeded to erect a handsome house finished just a few months ago. Mr. Rabey’s brother of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is here with his brother, who is now confined to the house under the care of a physician. CHURCH OF WIDE FELLOWSHIP Mrs. Albert Vittum will address the Ladies' Aid Society on the subject, “My visit to tl\e Lions’ Farm. “The meting will be held in the parlors of The Church of Wide Fellowship at 8 o’clock on Friday, December 26th. The Sunday School will present a pageant entitled, “The Star Lighted Path,” in the Assembly Room of the church at 6:30 p. m. on December 25th. Dr. Mary Harris Armor, national lecturer of the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union, will speak on “The Eighteenth Amendment” at the Church of Wide Fellowship Sunday evening, December 31 at 7:30. Mr. and Mrs. Moore, who are engaged in For eign Mission work at T^amatsu, Ja pan, are spending their furlough in America, and are pow enroute to Flonda where they will visit rela tives. On Tuesday afternoon, a Social meeting of the Woman’s Auxiliary was held at the home of Mrs. Harry H. Fleem. The program of the af ternoon consisted of the simging in unison of a number of Christmas Carols, a Christmas contest in which Mrs. Nichols L. Gibbon was the win ner and a reading by Mrs. Frederick Taylor. The program was followed by a Christmas Tree after which deli cious refreshments were served hy the hostess. Mrs. J. R. McQueen and Miss Pearl McNeill spent Monday at Hiemip. Mr. and Mrs. I. D. Faircloth of Fay etteville were the Sunday guests of Mrs. C. G. Priest and family. . George Graves of Carthage was the guest of his daughter, Mrs. Worth Miller, for a day or two this week.
