On Thursday, March 24th, Mrs. J.
D. McLean entertained at a lovely
rook party in honor of her niece, Miss
Margaret McLean. This, being her
twelfth birthday. The sitting room
was beautifully decorated with potted
plants and spring flowers. Two ta
bles were in play, and high score
prize, a lovely string of beads, was
won by Miss Ruth McFadyen, the
consolation prize, a lovely jar of bath
salts, was won by Miss Marie Parker.
In the game of Progressive Hearts,
high score prize was won by Miss

Rev. M. D. McNeill was called to
Aberdeen to conduct the funeral ser
vices of Kenneth McCrimmon. Mr.
McCrimmon was a deacon in the
Manley Pres,byterian church. Services
were held in Bethesda Church at
Aberdeen,
On Thursday afternoon, the Rev. M.
D. McNeill was called upon to con
duct the funeral services of Mrs.
Tom Savage at the old Savage cem
etery. Mrs. Savage was 85 years old,
and a life long member of the White
Hill church.
Miss Katheryn McDonald, who
teaches—at Needham’s Grove, spent
the week-end at home.
Miss Mary Emma Thomas was
supper guest of Misses Inez Wanna-
maker and Ethel Seawell Saturday.
Mrs. Loula Muse is spending a few
days in Whiteville, the guest of her
niece, Mrs. E. K. Proctor.
Rev. Frank Hare preached at the
Baptist Church Sunday night.
Misses Pearl and Clara Johnson will
conduct a study class for the B. Y.
P. U., the subject of which is, “In
vestments in Christia* Living” Miss
Pearl is a returned missionary of
China.

a lecture on “Rock Gardens in Dixie”
at Southern Pines Sunday night.

spent Sunday at home. She was ac

Dr. C. E. Edwards of Louisiana,
who has been associated with Dr. J.
W. Dickie at Pine Crest Manor for
two years, has opened offices in the
Page Trust Company building in
Aberdeen. Dr. Edwards, already well
known in the Sandhills, now becomes
a permanent fixture in the commun
ity. He is a graduate of the medical
school at Vanderbilt University.
