McKeithen at her attractive home on Main street. A profusion of summer flowers were effectively arranged in the spacious living-room, and a most enjoyable meeting was held. Following out the course of study laid down in the Club’s Year Book, the subject for the aftemoon’sprogram was “German_ Influence in Art,” and interesting and instructive papers were read by Mrs. M. M. Johnson and Mrs. C. V. Miller on “William M. Chase” and “Frank Duvendck.” The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. S. E. Sloan in Aberdeen. After the regular program a de lightful social hour was enjoyed by all those present, during which the host ess served a delicious ice course. The specialguests invited in for this meeting were Mrs. A. A. McKeithen, Mrs. Malcolm Pleasants, Mrs. J. D. McLean, Mrs. J. F. Deaton and Mrs. E. L. Bryan. Bridge Party Mrs. Rosser Jones delightfully en tertained her Bridge Club on last Thursday night with three tables ar ranged in her attractive living-room at her home- on Bethesda Road. Mrs. George Martin was awarded first prize and Mrs. Jesse Frink second prize. The special guests invited in were Mrs. Dan I. McKeithen, Mrs. Forrest Lockey and Mrs. Sam Swear ingen. Neighborhood Bridge Club The Neighborhood Bridge Club was charmingly entertained on last Fri day night by Mrs. Jesse Frink v.ith two tables of bridge. WINS HONORS FOR WEEK The Honor Battery flag for the best work during the first week of the Citizens Military Training Camp at Fort Bragg was awarded to Battery “A” of the C. M. T. C. regiment by Major D. Higley, 17th F A., the Camp Commandant, at the regimental pa rade Monday afternoon. Battery “A,” commanded by Capt. Buhl Moore, 5th F. A., is made up of students from the counties of David son, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Rock ingham, Rowan, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin. The award is bailed on ex cellence in performance of military duties, promptness, march, sanitary conditions of the battery tents, kit chen and dining room, and for vic tories in athletic contests. To win this honor requires the cooperation of every officer and man in the battery as the competition among the six batteries of the C. M. T. C. regiment is very keen.
