Austin Is Doing Interior Finish and Laying Floor In Auditorium miAL OPENING LATER . : is soon to be in shape to ■ - fine new Methodist church, 'kustin is now finishing the in- arid preparing t,o lay the hand- . V-or i nthe main building, which r ^ted to be ready for use early •lonth. This new structure is . -i i»0 fe.^t by 40 in its dimen- . r -- with a main auditorium, eight ’; ‘ 'V o-^^s, a basement that will con- ra‘ a heating system that will serve i:': iimmer as a cooling plant, and ■vv •’! .-oine minor rooms for the var- r:U!poses. Xf, church will represent a cost of aiy I r $12,000 when completed, which lev, ihan most edifices of its kind vniail. But at Pinebluff the folks took a liand in helping with the work, and many contributed in kind for the Nucces> of the structure, and in that way >bort cuts were possible that ■’^ave resulted in an excellent church. !. D. AdCfOX did most of the brick u'ork. and others put in a hand here ,::d there to accomplish the excellent .=nd. The church is a handsome Gothic edifice, in the heart of the village, with a good location, and will acc^om- modate the congregaton of fifty or more members with ample rc,om for visitors and friends. The Rev. A. W. Thompson is the pastor, and he has leen a factor in building up a good congregation and in the ef:^ort to se cure the new building which he hopes to dedicate before long unless con ference, to which he goes in a few weeks, transfers him to some .other charge. On this account the builders are trying to get the work done as soon as possible that Mr. Thompson may be able t^o use the building be fore conference convenes and to in troduce his new temple to his peo ple. Aside from its uses as house of wor-, ship the new church will have the relati<on to the community that ties many people together in a bond of ownership, as many of the builders and supply concerns in the commun ities have lent a hand in carrying out the work, along with several people who have contributed in work and .-^uch material as they might be able to procure. The Pinebluff Methodist church will be an offering of the old fa?hi,oned type when everybody gave what he could, no matter what it might be, if it happened to bring re- .'UltS. HOLLY SPRINGS MAN RENTS DRUG STORE BUILDING L. H. Furr of Holly Springs has rented the H. C. Cameron store build ing, formerly occupied by Gunter’s Store, and is putting in a nice line of general merchandise. Lewis Furr, a son of the propriet^or of the store, and William Jones have been in town for several days, getting things in shape for business. According to young Furr, the new st,ore will carry everything from “a cord of wood to a derby hat.” Mr. Furr is engaged in the mer cantile business in Holly Springs, but is considering transferring all of his interests to Vass. Other members of the family will arrive within a few days and will be at home in the >impson house near the Methodist church. Vass cordially welcomes the Furrs, to both the business and so cial life ,of the community. B LHJ Houm PaftMH 328 - Piiiehurst A. B. One never makes a mis take in selecting this type of house. Rec tangular in shape, it divides into separate rooms with the minimum of waste or un usable space. The plan is economical in construction and tends to produce the most bouse for the least money. House No. 328 is particularly adaptable to a comer lot. The driveway from the gar^e can lead directly to a side street, thus elim inating the usual tmsightly stretcH of con* Crete at the front. The garage being part of the house, it provides space above for a nice large bedroom. In a comparatively small house of this natiure three large bedrooms are exceptionaL Complete building plans and specifications are available for this house for $1.00. In cluded with the plans is 9 cardboard cut-out model of the house, architecturally drawn to scale. The model can be colored, and it will visualize for you exactly what the completed house will look like. Address your requests for plans and model to the editor of this paper.
