Meeting The Alfred Moore Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their first fall meeting at the home of Mrs. J. Talbot Johnson last Wednesday afternoon, September 2nd, with Mrs. P. P. McCain and Mrs. Johnson acting as joint hostesses. During the business hour it was voted to make a study of “Old Towns in North Carolina” for the year’s work, and the chapter also voted to plant trees in those towns in this community where their members re side, honoring the memory of the Father of our Country. This tree planting will be concluded with a special tree planting exercise to be held in Southern Pines on next Feb ruary 22nd, which time will be the 200th anniversary of George Wash ington’s birthday. An interesting paper on historical cities of Virginia was read by Mrs. Johnson, “Yorktown, Williamsburg and Jamestown,” which cities Mrs. Johnson visited. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Jesse Page at Eagle Springs on October 6th. C. A. R. Pictiic The Chapter of the C. A.
