Outstanding among the week’s so

Thursday Afternoon Book Club at the
Community House in Aberdeen, when
Mrs. H. E. Bowman charmingly en

members of the Home and Garden
Club.
The club house was attractively dec
orated in the fall colors of gold and
brown, which color scheme was also
carried out in the refreshments. In
the place of .the regular program of
study a treat was provided for those
present in the very interesting talk
made by Col. George P. Hawes of
■ Pinehurst on the life of his. cousin,
; the author Albert Payson Terhune,
' which was greatly enjoyed. This was
."oilov/ed by a season of music dur-
I ing which Mrs. Reid A. Page gave
1 several vocal selections and Mrs. Dan
: I. McKeithen an instrumental solo. .
I The invited guests were Mrs. W. T.
Bachelor, Mrs. C. C. Bethune, Mrs.
J. V. Ferree, Mrs. H. A. Gunter, Mrs.
L. L. Johnson, Mrs. P. P. McCain,
Mrs. Frank Page, Jr., and the hon
