The main feature of the afternoon’s program was an interesting talk by Miss Nellie Sanborn of Southern Pines, a well-knowTi portrait painter of the Sandhills, on the subject of por trait painting. This was followed by an instructive reading by Mrs. G. A. Charles ,on “Richard E. Miller.” Mrs. Page made an urgent plea to all the members of this club for their sup port and cooperation in the Red Cross drive soon to be put on. A delightful social hour followed the meeting during which the hostess served refreshments. The guests in vited to this meeting were the honor gue.st. The Thanksgiving season was de lightfully carried out in an amusing turkey contest, followed by a bean contest, and prizes were given for the winners in these, which were Misses Mary Margaret Burney and T-anie Ruth Gunter.
