is in town for a few days this week.

George St. John returned Monday
to New York after being the guest of
C. T. Patch for the past week.
Mrs. J. .S. Milliken will attend a
meeting: in Raleigh Friday of the
State’s 100 Democratic county vice-
(.hainnen. The meeting has been ar
ranged by .Mrs. Thomas O’Berry, state
vice chairman, and will be held at
the Sir Walter Hotel. .Mrs. .Milliken
will rejiresent Moore county.
■Miss Clarahelle Reinecke returned to
Philadelphia Monday after being the
guest of her brother, John Reinecke
for three weeks. She was accompan
ied north by another brother, P'. W.
Reinecke.
Miss Eleanor Moore has returned
home after spending the summer in
Norfolk with her sister, Mrs. Earle
Merrill.
Prof. and rs. A. 1. Sherman will
arrive this week and open their home
on Orchard Road. They have spent the
summer months on the St. Lawrence

Home,” at their first meeting of the
year which was held at the Y. W.

called to Rutherfordton Sunday by
the death of his uncle, John Stim-

hits. Dr. George G. Herr, president
of the Chamber of Commerce, made a

winter resort and an ideal piace to

RICHARDSON REQUISITIONS
1,200 BARRELS OF FLOUR
S. B. Richardson of Southern Pines
has sent in to the .American Red
Cross a requisition for 1,200 barrels
of flour for the county’s poor and
needy. If the requisition is honored,
as it is expected to be, the flour will
be distributed from Southern Pines,
Carthage and Pinehurst to approved
families in distress.
