Some 75 delegates, besides visi tors were present, and the following Presbyterial officers: Mrs. Charles Ross and Mrs. Adkins of Lillington, Mrs. W. G. Sugg, Carthage, Mrs. W. G. Parker, Cameron, Mrs. E. L. Bar ber of Aberdeen and Miss Virginia Cameron of Olivia. The Rev. Dixon McDonald, Home Mission Worker in Johnson county told enthusiastically of his work in that needy field. At noon a picnic dinner was serv ed in the grove and in the afternoon Dr. Adams, president of Presbyter ian Junior College, told of easy finan cial terms available for 'students de siring to enter this college, Mrs. J. M. Guthrie of Cameron was unani mously elected district chairman to succeed Miss Mary Sherwood McDon ald, who has moved to another dis trict. Carthage was selected for the 1935 meeting. The conference closed with an Inspirational address by the Rev. E. L. Barber of Aberdeen. FATHEK OF H. C. McLEOD OF OF SOUTHEKN FINES PASSES Funeral services for J. F. McLeod, who died in Raleigh last Thursday morning in Rex Hospital were held Friday afternoon at the Baptist Church in Buie’s Creek. Interment was in the Neill’s Creek Baptist church. Hinson, Misses Mary Ritter and Beth Richardson, Byrd Williams went to the circus in Charlotte Monday. Mrs. Lacy Williams and Miss H. G. Fletcher spent the day in Fayette ville last Satuiday. The Rev. W. F. Elliott filled his regular appointment at the Methodist Church here last Sunday. Mr. Elliott is attending the Western Conference in Greensboro this week. Clyon Lewis, who is in school in Chapel Hill, was in an automobile wreck last Satui’day while en route to Durham. Reports state that he probably has a fractured skull. He is receiving medical attention in 1 Watts Hospital in Durham. Miss Katherine Jackson visited m Charlotte la.st Sunday. Glenn Auman, senior at Elon Col lege, has been doing fhie work on the Elon football team this season. He I starred on a recent game with Ca tawba, winning the praise of critics and the coach.
