Friday, November 2, 1934. THE PILOT, Southern Pines and Aberdeen, North Carolina Forward With Roosevelt! Vote DEMOCRATIC November 6 Do you appreciate what Mr. Roosevelt and the Democratic party have done for you during the past eig'hteen (18) months? How about the price you got for your peaches, tobacco and cotton? Haven’t you had more work to do and made more money this year than you did two years ago? t What have the Republicans done to make you prosperous and happy? Ponder these things in your mind and answer with the overwhelming majority by voting a straight Democratic ticket on Novem ber 6th. Get other memlDers of your family, friends and neighbors to do li 3wise. If you find those who do not have a way to go to the polls, kindly see that a way is provided for them. You will find it easy to vote a straight Democratic Ballot—Put a cross mark in the circle above the Democratic ballot as follows; The following is a part of an editorial which re cently appeared in a local paper: The entire Democratic ticket in Moore county will be elected. Most of those whose names ap pear on the Moore County Dem ocratic ticket are men who have proved their fitness for a con tinuation in the places of trust for which they aspire. The en tire Democratic ticket is made up of men whose election would be a credit to the party and the county. Charlie McDonald has made a record as sheriff which can be pointed to with pride by any son or daughter of the county. John Willcox and Will Harrington are ideal men for their respective offices as Clerk of the Court and Register of Deeds. A better prosecutor than M. G. Boyette could not be se cured for the Recorder’s Court. J. Vance RuWfi bids fair to be a credit to himself, the party and the county as judge of the county court. Wilbur Currie, T. Frank Cameron, Gordon Camer on, H. R. Reynolds and D. D. McCrimmon are about as capa ble a group of men as could be selected to handle the affairs of the county as county commis sioners. There is no kick what ever about McQueen Bailey as a surveyor. D. Carl Frye can hold an inquest as good as a doctor. This brings us down to Mr. Spence and Mr. Clegg for the General Assembly. Mr. Spence is one of the ablest of all the candidates who ever aspired to the General Assem bly from Moore county. Mr. Spence has the ability to secure as much for Moore county as any other man who will occupy a seat in the next General As sembly. Clegg can do more for Moore county at Raleigh than a dozen Republicans. The administration at Raleigh is Democratic and naturally a Democrat will have more power and influence than a lonely Republican. It behooves all good citizens to vote the entire Democratic ticket from constable to con gressman. * Democratic Ballot Read the following editorial from Sunday’s News & Observer: O o For Solicitor 13th Judicial District ROWLAND s. WALTER LAMBETH MIND YOUR MANNERS As November 6 approaches in North Carolina there seems to be less interest in the election than in many years past. The reason is not hard to find. The people of North Carolina today are so solidly behind the Demo cratic party, as a result of the dramatic change from Hoover days to Roosevelt days, that the election will be no more than a perfunctory affair. It ought not to be so regarded, however. In the two years since North Carolinians last cast their ballots in a contest between par ties, more has happened for which they should be grateful than in many long, hard years. On November 6 the people who 'have so greatly benefited as a result of the efforts of the Roosevelt Administration will have their first opportunity to give tangible thanks. Every man in North Carolina who has basis for gratitude should go to the polls and cast his Democratic ballot. If every such man did, there would be a greater vote registered in North Carolina on November 6 than ever before in the 'history of the State. MOORE COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE Vote Early. If you know of an absentee ballot, please see that it is looked after. Join with the Democrats in rolling up an unprece dented Victory. ' (Political Advertising)
