found itself in need of funds, so the
“Fat Ladies” and the “Lean Ladies"
agreed to put on a basketball game
and ^jdonate the proceeds to the
cause; Friday night, March 15, was
set as the date. Mr. Sinclair was to
be referee.
For two days the topic of conversa
tion was: “Goin' to see the Fats and
the Leans play” and the answei: “Am
l! you can just bet I am. I want a
good laugh!”

their corporate seal, signed by their
tax collector and attested by their
mayor and town clerk, on or before
the first Monday in September of each
year beginning with the first Mon
day in September, 1935. The Clerk of
the Superior Court .shall record and
index said certificates and shall in
clude said taxes and costs incurred in
connection therewith by said cities or
towns in the execution for tax sale
certificates or execution of judgment
for delinquent taxes.
Sec. 9. That the Board of Commis
sioners of Moore county are author
ized and empowered to remit, forgive
and adjust any and all taxes or pen
alties or interest on any taxes now
due or which may become due here
after and shall charge no more than
six per cent interest on any taxes
and no penalties other than the costs
and fees authorized in this act.
Sec. 10. That within sixty days
prior to the first day of November,
I one thousand nine hundred and thir-
I ty-five, annually thereafter on said
j date, the Clerk of the Superior Court
I of Moore County shall issue an exe-
I cution on each of the foregoing tax
j sale certificate judgments so receiv-
' ed by him from the tax collector of
! Moore county and by him docketed,
I recorded and indexed.
Other sections of the bill provide
i for fees to be charged delinquent tax
payers, fees for advertising, provis-
, ions for the county to bid in land
: where there is no other bidder, pro-
j vision for delivery of a duly executed
I deed where there is another bidder,
^and provides for the handling of funds
; arising from sale of lands for taxes.
