On Sunday Moore county officers
went to Knlghtdale to get Nathaniel
Smith, alias Harold Harrington, who
is suspected of being the man who
assaulted Mr. Hough of Hillcrest, a
former employer, one morning last
winter as he was on his way to the
barnyard to feed his stock.
Mr. Hough was struck on the head
with a blackjack, but his assailant be
came frightened and fled. It wais
thought that the motive was robbery.
Although the Negro was»wearing a
towsack to conceal his identify, Tvlr.
Hough felt certain that Smith was
the man.
