SMITH, FOUND OUII.TY OF, ASS.\ULT, APPEALS CASE No probable cause for commission of a felony was found in the case of Nathan Smith, colored, who was last week brought to the county from Knightdale to face a charge of secret assault with a deadly weapon upon Mr. Hough of Hill Crest with intent to rob. He was found guilty of an as- sault with deadly weapon and given 60 days on the roads, suspended upon payment of a $10 fine and the costs. He gave notice of appeal and bond was fixed at $100.
