This year—because of the National Housing Act—
you can put x'our plans into ACTION. Insured Loans
now make it possible for anyone with good credit
standing and a regular income to build or buy a home,
refinance a home, or remodel a home! The Insured
Mortgage Plan leads to debt-free ownership on a pay
ment basis that is similar to paying rent. Here’s hov;
the plan works:
You invest, as a “down payment’’, at least 20
percent of the cost of house ami lot. (If you own a lot
worth that much, you need not invest any cash.) Then
arrange for an Insured Mortgage through any financial
institution cooperating with the Federal Housing Ad
ministration. This will take care of the balance—for
you can now borrow up to 80 percent of the api)raised
value of a home—on one insured mortgage.
This new kind of loan differs from the old-
fashioned mortgage that eats up interest, has to be re
financed every few years, and rarely is paid in full!
Under this new plan, monthjy repayments, based on
your income, are figured to fnclude everything—inter
est. principal, taxes, insurance premiums. And the
monthly installments are spread out over a con-
veninently long time (up to 20 years)—so that you can
repay the loan as easily as you now pay rent.
But this kind of “rent” makes you the OWNER of
a debt-free home. Ask any architect or any progressive
builder!
If ypu already own a home, you can protect your in
vestment by making necessary property repairs and
improvements—new plumbing, heating, lighting, new
and modern equipment—all the things that make a
house a home. If you have a regular income and good
credit standing, but haven’t sufficient cash on hand to
make all the home imi)rovements you would like, you
can borrow' up to !?2,000 under the Modernization Credit
Plan. Now you can make your home more livable—and
take up to five years to pay for repairs and new equip
ment. Pa«, by the month, out of income, while you
enjoy the improvements!
