Jhige Six THE PILOT, Southern Pines and Aberdeen, Nofth CafoHna Friday, November 8, 1635. Two Moore Projects on New W. P. A. List Carthage and Pinebluff Street Improvement Jobs Approved if Money Lasts Of $1,116,524 released to North Carolina this week by the Federal Works Progress Administration, the sum of $3,268 comes to Mcore coun. ty if-. Th? “if" is put in because on the list for which the money was appor- tianed by the government are many more projects than the sum will take care of. State Administrator George W. Coan of Winston_Salem and his cohorts must weed out the list and aelect therefrom jobs which will put people immediately to work. It may be that the Moore county jobs, both small ones, will be selected; it may be they will not. One of the local projects is the improvement of streets and the build, ing of a head wall in Carthage, for which $1,636 of federal funds is to be matched with $819 of local funds, the total cost being $2,555. The other calls for the improvement of streets and building of sidewalks in Pinebluff, with $1,632 of federal money and $807 of local money; to. tal, $2,439.
