Leiby as azala- leas are his delight, says the Raleigh News and Observer. Dr. Leiby is a former resident of Aberdeen and a frequent Sandhills visitor. Dr. Leiby recen:;y celebrated the 20th anniversary of his coming to North Carolina as assistant State entomologist, a post he left Cornell University in 1915 to accept. For ten years he held down the job so well that in 1925 he was made State en- tcmologist, a post .he holds today. Since he has been entomologist, his office has been an important news center on numerous occasions, among them being during the Flor ida fruit-fly quarantine in 1929, the return of the 17-year locusts two years ago and during the invasions of the boll weevil in the cotton fields.
