monthly business meeting at the club
house and immediately following will
present a very interesting progrtim on
Ethiopia which has been arranged
by Miss Ruth Burr Sanborn, author,
a resident of Southern Pines. Miss
Alice Holmes is chairman in charge
of arrangements for the program,
and there will be violin solos by Miss
Ruth Raymond, accompanied on the
piano by Mrs. Hodgkins. All mem
bers are asked to be at the taeeting,
and visitors in Southern Pines are
most cordially invited to attend and
meet the members at tea following

ern Pines is among the two lone
women to whom licenses to sell in
surance in North Carolina were is
sued during November. In all 106 ap
plicants passed the examinations
given by the State department.
Twenty-eight failed to pass. C. B.
Adams of Southern Pines and R. C.
Rogers of Aberdeen were among the
successful men applicants.
