Fine Auxiliary Program at Jackson Springs More than 100 Attend Gathering and Hear Reports at Presby terian Church " More than a hundred mentibers and visitors were registered at the An nual meeting of the Woman's Auxil iary cf Jackson Springs Presbyterian church on Tuesday. An interesting and helpful program was carried out and this all day meet ing was voted a great success by all present, despite the weather. Besides the report from the various committee, the circle chairman and others, and from the West End and Culdee auxiliaries, several visitors were heard with a great deal of pleasure. Those who brought messages were Mrs. Charles Ross of Lillington, pres ident the Fayetteville Presbyterial; Miss Mildred Holler, Bible teacher at Elise Academy, Hemp; Dr. C. G. Var- dell. Red Springs, dean and Bible teacher at Flora Macdonald; Miss Gammon and Miss Ross, students at Flora Macdonald and daughters of two of the auxiliaries’s missioniaries in Brazil and Mexico; Mrs. J. O. Sut- tenfield of Pinebluff, and Miss Bon nie McKenzie of Pinehurst, a former student at Barium Springs. To Give Concert in Southern Pines Saturday Night VASS Mrs. O. M. Spurlin of Sharon, S. C„ and Miss Ossie Edwards of Garner are spending this week with their mother, Mrs. Mary E. Edwards, who is recovering from pneumonia and pleurisy. Mrs. Seth W. Lassiter of Smithfield, Miss Jewell Edwards of Mount Olive, and Earl Edwards of Rutherfordtan, who were with their mother for some time, h.ive returned to their homes. Mrs. W. C. Byrd and children, Mary Lou and Keith Byrd, and Eugene Keith came over from Albemarle for a week-end visit with Mrs. J. A. Keith and family. Mrs. S. D. Ballard and little son, S. D., Jr., of Angier and Miss Mildred Gunter of Lakeview visited Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Smith Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hinsley and fam ily of White Hill have moved into the cottage on the Keith farm to the rear of the D. C. McGill home. Mrs. C. J. Temple, Mrs. W. D. Mat thews, Mrs. H. A. Borst, Mrs C Lan- don Tyson and Miss Marie Tyson were Sanford visitors Friday after noon. A. L. Marvel of Seaford, Delaware, has arrived to spend the greater part of the summer here where he has ex tensive dewberry interests. Keith, a day last week as she was enroute wit hthe college basket ball team, of which she is manager, to Wingate and Boone for games. Miss Keith is president of the ath letic association and has also been voted the "most athletic.” Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Griffin and Edgard Griffin of Sanford were din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Griffin Sunday. I THE MEREDITH COLLEGE GLEE CLUB The Glee Club will give a concert tomorrow, Saturday night in the Southern Pines High School Auditorium at 8:00 o’clock. The program will consist of classical music rendered by twenty-two well trained young women from one of the leading colleges of North Carolina, and those who have heard them before will know what to ex pect.
