Mr. and Mrs. Alex Stewart spent Sunday in Maxton as guests of Mr. Stewart’s father. The Rev. and Mrs. T. A. Cheatham i are spending the week in Oxford and Washington, D. C. Miss Helen Louise Heim and Miss Evelyn Freeman visited in Washing ton this week. Miss Heim was a page at the annual D. A. R. meeting. Frank J. McManus of Beverly, Mass., arrived last Thursday and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Sledge. I Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Jellison and chil dren Marjorie and Buddy, and Mrs. Thomas Black spent the past week end in Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Thomson re turned to their home in St. John, N. B. Thursday.
