W. Cadwallad er, one of the village’s most distin guished and beloved citizens. She was 89 years of age and recently suffered a stroke following which her decline was steady. Mrs. Cadwalleder was born in New York city October 26, 1847, where she had the advantage of a liberal ed ucation. She was particularly fhter- ested in the higher things of life, mus ic, art and literature, and was known as one of Titusville’s most cultured women. Her husband, the late J. A. Cadwal lader, was one of the pioneer oil men. He was also much interested in the building of a more stTbstanTial city and promoted the development of the city around the City park in the Sec ond ward. The Cadivalleder home was for many years on North Perry street just above the C. F. Emerson prop erty. Mrs. Cadwallader was one of the early members of the Titusville Wo man’s club and served two years as president in tl^.e early part of the new century. For many years she was very active in the work of the club andS much interested i nail civic projects for the betterment of Titusville. Having affiliated with the Jlpisco- pal church a.s a girl, Mrs. Cadwal lader was for many years active in the work of St. James’ Memorial church.
