C., on the Fourth. Bill Bowman left last week for R:chester, N. Y.. where he has ac cepted a position with the Eastman Kodak Company. Miss Jane French Bowen, a former roommate of Miss Miriam Johnson at Randolph-Macon College, Lynch burg, Va., is visiting her. D. B. Herring and family are spend ing their vacation on a camping trip at Carolina Beach. Miss Robbie Pickier of Albemarle visited in Aberdeen last Friday. Colin Bethune, U. S. N., now serv ing as radioman on board the U. S. S. Keywadin, Norfolk, Va., spent the Fourth of July holidays with his par- tnts here, Maurice Jackson of Roxb.ro was the week-end guest of his aunt, Mrs. M. M. Miss Raymond is sailing for Stockh Im, Sweden at an early date to attend the International Confer ence of College Professors, as a rep resentative of Duke. Edwards of Aberdeen and Mr. and Mrs. McIn tyre of Raeford were visitors at Myr tle Beach, S. C.. last week-end. Miss Edna Maurer visited Mrs. Leo Page in Rockingham Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. James Tarlton ol Portland, Indiana are visiting their mother, Mrs. V. P. Tarlton this week. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hurley and chil dren of Fayetteville, and W. H. Hur ley of Hope Mills were guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Hurley last Sunay. Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Page, Jr. and son, Bobby, are enjoying a vaca tion trip to Highlands and other west ern North Carolina points. The Rev. and Mrs. E. M. Harris were called to Sumter, S. C., last Thursday on account of the death ot Mr. Harris’ sister, Mrs. Wallace. Nat Weaver anu lamiiy are leaving •\berdeen this week for Red Springs, where Mr. Weaver will manage a fur niture store.
