Wilson at the Community House last Thursday. Mrs. E. M. Medlin read an interest ing hVetch of Virginia, and Miss Ruth Burr Sanborn of Southern Pines read one of her short stories. The club ac cepted with regret the resignation of Mrs. E. J.* Macon, who is leaving Aberdeen tc^make her home in Golds boro. A number of Aberdeen young peo ple enjoyed a picnic and swimming party at Mossgiel Lake Wednesday evening. Miss Betty Dorsett of Raleigh is visiting her cousin, Mrs. R. S. Gwyn. A pageant, "The King’s Highway,” w'as presented Sunday evening at the Methodist Church by the Sunday School, all departments being repre sented. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Russell an nounce the birth of a son, Wesley Glenn^ on Friday, July 10. Mrs. Malcolm Pleasants and Mrs. C. E. Pleasants, Sr., spent Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville. Miss Blanche Sturdivant passed the week-end with friends in White Lake. Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Medlin and daughter, Gloria Gray, and Mr. and Mrs. Reid Page spent the week-end at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. R. N. Page and Mrs. Living ston Biddle visited Mr. and Mrs, Richard Page in Statesville last week end. Elizabeth Caviness has returned from Carthage where she visited rel atives last week. Mrs. H. A. Page, Sr.^ is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Beverly Royster at White Lake. Aubrey Norris of Burlington is at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Norris. Mrs. Norris, who has been quite ill recently, is improving. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor and Sid ney Taylor passed the week-end in Fort Valley, Ga. Mr. Taylor’s sister returned to Aberdeen with them. Mr. and Mrs. R. I. Zimmerman were called to Duncan, S. C., Sunday to be with their daughter, Theresa, who is ill at the home of her uncle. Lawrence Johnson and W. H. Mc Neill, Jr., entertained a number of their friends at Mossgiel Saturday af ternoon, celebrating their birthday.
