Scouts must prepare long and well to pass the rigid requirements before the badge is awarded. In order that the path of study might be more interesting. Father Williams has planned many talks for all of the scoutt. of South ern Pines. On Wednesday of last week Harold Bachman, in charge of the local airport, explained the re quirements for the Aviation merit badge. The boys thoroughly enjoyed his talk. After the regular weekly meeting on Friday last E. H. Loren- son explained the Radio merit badge. The boys were so interested that Mr. Lorenson promised to award all ma terials necessary to build a small ra dio to the boy that could first master the code to the extent of receiving and sending messages at the rate of ten words a minute.
