Adams spent Monday in Raleigh. Mrs. Alice Colby is slowly improv- mg at her home on Vermont avenue from a recent serious illness. Mrs. Speas of Winston-Salem is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. D. C. Phillips for a few days. Mrs. Cythnia Lamm has returned to her home here following a few days stay in Lakeview. Miss Eleanor Moffett has leased an apartment in the Magnolia Lodge for the season. Mrs. Lee Clark and son Windham are visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs. J. M. Windham for a few days. D. J. Smith of Durham was a bus iness visitor in town Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fitandies have returned to Southern Pines follow ing a summer spent in Ogonquit, Maine. Burdon Holliday returned Monday after spending a w^eek witi; relatives in Jamesville. George Chiistmas returned to Southern Pines Friday after spending some time at his home in Latta, S. C. The members of the Pilgrim Fel lowship Forum met at the Church of Wide Fellowship Monday evening at which time plans were made for the Hallowe'en party to be held in the As sembly room of the Church Friday evening. October 30th. The public is invited to attend and the admission will be 10 and 25 cents. Mrs. Edna L. Prillaman is seriously ill at her home in May street M. H. Turner is spending a few days in Maine. Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Leonard arriv- ci last week from Pleasantville, N. Y., will spend .some time in Southerr Pines. Mr. and Mrs- B. J. Simonds arrived Tuesday night from Saxon’s River, Vt., where they passed the s’jmmer months. Ray Hayes, son cf Mrs. Edna Hayes, celebrated his 13th birthday with a theatre party at the Carolina Theatre Tuesday afternoon. Fifteen of Raja’s friends helped him celebrate this occasion. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Ehler arrived Tuesday to spend the season here. They will again be located at the Gertrude. Mrs. Carmen Peat and Mrs. Frieda Neilson of Mansfield, Ohio were re cent guests of Mrs. G. R. Crosby en- route to St. Petersburg, Fla. Mrs, Maude Thayer has arrived from Seigert, N. J., and will spend the winter here. Mrs. Maude Eaton arrived Sunday from Bethlehem, N. H., and is spend ing a few days here before going to Florida for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Kellam have arrived from Newton, N. J., and have leased the Turner house on Ashe street for the season.
