Vass scored its run in the first inning. Newton gave up five hits and struck out nine men. Southern Pines scored one in the fifth and nine in the sixth. Thursday Southern Pines won over Cameron 14-4 to re venge the beating suffered the week before. Parker allowed five hits, while Southern Pines touched six Cameron pitchers for 14 hits. The newly organized school glee club, under the direction of Mrs. W. H. Abernathy and M. P. Snipes^ pre sented an excellent program in Chap el Thursday. A pleasing feature of the program was a number by a quartet composed of Estelle Faulk, Frances Lane, Nelson Atkins and Wesley Stoltz. This evening, Friday, at 8:00 o’clock, the High School and elemen tary grades will present a stunt show together with a Hallowe’en Carnival, in the auditorium. There will be various side shows, as well as a cake walk to provide fun for every body. Admission is 5c for children, 10c for adults.
