Guests were greeted by Mrs. Pa\il Butler of Southern Pines, and Intro duced to the receiving line by Mi-s. J. Talbot Johnson. The receiving line was composed of the hostesses, the honoree. Miss Mattie B. Rogers of Fayetteville, Miss Susan McLean. Mrs. W. R. Taylor of Goldsboro and Mrs. John R. McLean. Mrs. A. L. Burney invited the g'ie.‘?ts into the dining room, where tea was pour ed by Mrs. Forrest Lockey and Mrs. H. W. Doub. Assisting in the dining-room were Mrs. Norfleet Pleasants, Miss Made line Folley, Miss Frances Pleasants, Mrs. William V. Cartipr, Jr.,, and Mrs. L. J. Dawkins. The tea table was covered with white lace and centered by a graceful arrangement of white roses and snapdragons in a silver bowl. Yellow chrysanthe mums, pink gladioli and pale green tapers were effectively used through out the rest of the house. Goodbyes were said by Miss Alice Wilder. About 200 guests called dur ing the afternoon. Mrs. Bowman Hostess Mrs. H. E. Bowman entertained at three tables of bridge at her home last Saturday afternoon, honoring Mrs. George Gartman of York, Pa. The invited guests were Mrs. H. A.
